Report: West Ham are interested in signing £51m attacker nominated for Ballon d'Or

West Ham United have made a really poor start to the new Premier League season under the stewardship of Julen Lopetegui.

West Ham have picked up just eight points from a possible 24 and currently reside in 16th place ahead of their clash against Manchester United this afternoon.

Evidently, there is plenty of room for improvement and with that said, they’re eyeing an exciting attacker on the continent who has Premier League experience.

West Ham interested in Ademola Lookman

According to GiveMeSport, West Ham United are interested in signing Atalanta’s wide player Ademola Lookman.

The Hammers have already held internal discussions about the feasibility of signing Lookman, who is valued at around £51m by the Italian outfit.

The former Everton, Fulham and Leicester man has been reinvigorated out in Serie A since signing in 2022.

Lookman has netted 37 goals whilst laying on 23 assists across 88 outings for Atalanta, including a hat-trick in the Europa League final earlier this year.

His sensational form has been rewarded with a nomination for the 2024 Ballon d’Or award and Arsenal even showed an interest in Lookman in August.

If West Ham were to sign Lookman this winter, he’d be competing against Mohamed Kudus for a place in Lopetegui’s line-up.
