Report: 'World-class' player now left out of pre-season game amid claims he's pushing to sign for Tottenham

Tottenham’s hopes of landing one reported target this summer have just been given what looks like a timely boost ahead of a pre-season friendly.

Spurs are hoping to use the next two weeks to really push on and improve the squad.

So far, only Archie Gray has arrived for money while Timo Werner has come back on loan.

Ange Postecoglou, though, is keen to add more players and has admitted a new striker is wanted, with reports suggested Dominic Solanke is on Spurs’ radar.

Of course, other attacking players are also been linked with the club. And one of those is Italian striker, Federico Chiesa.

Reports have suggested Chiesa is pushing to join Tottenham and now, it looks like Juventus are actively taking steps at their end to get him out of the door.

Juventus leave Federico Chiesa out of pre-season game after Tottenham links

According to a report from Calciomercato, Juventus are leaving Chiesa out of the game against Brest.

It comes as increasing interest from England is there with Chiesa.

As we know, Chiesa is being linked with a move to the Premier League and Tottenham are one of the clubs considered really keen on taking him.

Arsenal, too, are also in the mix to sign Chiesa with continued suggestions he’d like a move to The Emirates to join international teammate, Riccardo Calafiori.

Chiesa, who has been dubbed a ‘world-class‘ talent in his homeland, is very much looking to leave Juventus and could be available for as little as £25m.

The Italian can play across a number of positions and it’s easy to see why Tottenham – and Arsenal – are keen on him.

Chiesa starred in Euro 2020 for Italy as they beat England in the final but has since seen his stock fall a bit after his time in Turin.

A move, then, looks set to happen before the deadline in a few weeks.
