Sean Dyche doesn’t appear to be in “immediate danger” of being sacked at Everton after the Brentford draw, according to The Athletic.
The Blues struggled to a 0-0 draw at Goodison Park on 23 November in the Premier League, despite the Bees having 10 men for the entire second half.
Patrick Boyland suggested on 25 November that some within the Merseyside outfit might point at the record of one defeat in eight games as signs of slow progress.
It is rightly said that “voices of disquiet” are growing louder around Dyche and the club, though.
Sean Dyche time at Everton coming to an end
While the hierarchy at the Toffees might still be behind Dyche for now, the Goodison faithful certainly have had enough of him.
Everton sit 15th in the Premier League after their draw against Brentford, just two points off the relegation zone.
Against Thomas Frank’s side, the Blues had a one-man advantage after Christian Norgaard’s red card, but their abysmal goalscoring ability was on show as they couldn’t find the back of the net with 27 shots.
Dyche is a pragmatic coach and sets up the team to play defensively, and when it comes to taking the initiative, Everton seem out of their depth.
The Goodison faithful will argue that the Toffees were probably better before Norgaard’s sending-off, and with Brentford holding off for a point after the break, the English manager didn’t look to have any ideas of breaking down the opposition.
It’s an indictment on Dyche that the Blues were better before the red card, and The Friedkin Group have a big decision to make when they complete their takeover.
In other Everton news, the English head coach is at risk of getting the sack if Dan Friedkin gets his wish for Beto in January.
