'Serious question marks' - Beesley raises Everton concern after comment Dyche made

Chris Beesley has raised new concerns over Sean Dyche after Everton played out a goalless stalemate against Brentford on Saturday.

The Toffees were unable to score at Goodison Park on 23 November despite playing against 10 men for the best part of 50 minutes after Christian Norgaard saw red in the first half.

Dyche’s players created plenty of chances, having 27 shots during the match [FotMob], though his forwards were unable to take advantage and the manager thinks the returns of Youssef Chermiti and Armando Broja could change things.

Writing via the Liverpool Echo on Monday (25 November), Beesley said: “Dyche also went on to namecheck Youssef Chermiti when talking about additional attacking options who could return in the coming weeks.

“But there has to be serious question marks over the potential to improve things when the cavalry consists of the Portuguese youngster and on-loan Chelsea striker Armando Broja, who failed to score in a combined 28 club appearances between them last season.”

Will Sean Dyche last the season as Everton continue to falter?

Keeping a clean sheet against a free-scoring Brentford side would not normally be frowned upon, but having had a one-man advantage for the majority of the game, Dyche has nowhere to hide.

It is no secret that the Toffees struggle in the final third, which has been a constant theme at Goodison Park over the last few campaigns, so fans are always going to react badly after Dyche makes such comments.

The likes of Chermiti and Broja are unlikely to fully fix any problems upon returning from their respective injuries. The issues on Merseyside seem far more complicated than one or two players missing.

If either attacker can become a hero this season, the Goodison Park faithful will be eternally grateful, but they will not be holding their breath after the 0-0 draw at home to the Bees this weekend.

It is certainly not all doom and gloom on Merseyside as the team rise to 15th in the Premier League table but it could have been a much better situation with all three points.

In other Everton news, a BBC pundit has shared a Sean Dyche sack verdict amid a new relegation prediction at Goodison Park.
