'Shut me up': Ian Wright admits one Liverpool player completely silenced him after playing Arsenal today

Liverpool came from behind twice at Arsenal to snatch a draw today and Ian Wright has admitted to being silenced by one Reds star.

A late equaliser from Mohamed Salah was enough for the Reds to come away with a point and in turn, dent Arsenal’s own title hopes.

Arne Slot’s side weren’t at their best in the opening 45 and even Jamie Carragher admitted he was disappointed in his former team’s performance overall.

However, they stayed in the game and after being quiet all first half, Salah sprung into life to score yet another goal against the Gunners.

Of course, Salah loves scoring against Arsenal and Man United. And after seemingly criticising the Egyptian, Ian Wright has admitted to being ‘shut up’ by Salah again.

Ian Wright admits Mo Salah shut him up during Arsenal v Liverpool

Speaking on Premier League Productions alongside Alan Shearer and Steve McManaman, Wright admitted that he’d doubted Salah, before being proven wrong once again.

“Brilliant for him. Well done Mo,” Wright laughed.

McManaman then revealed Wright had been calling the Liverpool man ‘No Salah’ at half-time after his lack of impact in the opening 45 minutes.

“But that’s what he does doesn’t he? Shuts you up. Shut me up,” Wright added.

Salah just continues to deliver when Liverpool need him

Alan Shearer was among the other pundits to praise Salah for his role in the draw and he showed yet again that even when he’s not quite on it, he can still produce.

Salah has shown consistently over the years that he is the man for the big occasion for Liverpool.

Today was just another demonstration of his immense quality and as Ian Wright jokes here, you simply write him off at your peril.

Indeed, if Arsenal had a player like Mo Salah, then they’d have won the league title before this season.
