Son Heung-min exit: Tottenham could now cash in on January transfer

Son Heung-min is among players at Tottenham now at risk of leaving on a free in the summer, according to The Daily Mirror.

The newspaper has reported in its print edition (31 December, pg 52) that the Lilywhites could cash in on the South Korean international in January.

With his contract expiring in the summer, the Bosman rule allows for players to sign pre-contract agreements with foreign clubs from 1 January if interest emerges.

Tottenham continue to insist they will trigger a one-year extension in Son’s contract, although nothing has yet been made official (The Times, 21 December).

Son Heung-min to leave Tottenham?

John Wenham has exclusively told Tottenham News that a deal may already be signed with Son, with an announcement all that is left in North London.

That would be huge news.

Right now, the last thing that Ange Postecoglou or Daniel Levy need to do is mess around over the future of their star man and create even more hostility with his potential exit.

Spurs simply cannot cash in on the attacker, it would lead to an uproar in the stands and things would likely never be the same, especially looking at the squad right now.

Son, himself, also needs to step up to the plate.

The 2-2 draw against Wolves simply wasn’t good enough and his missed penalty has summed up his performance levels for a long time now.

Despite that, everyone knows the standing of Son in this squad and there is absolutely zero chance he will be allowed to leave or even be sold in the upcoming January transfer window.

It’s time to get that contract sorted.
