Jakub Kiwior will be allowed to leave Arsenal this summer amid interest from Serie A clubs, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that multiple Italian clubs are lining up moves to bring the defender in on a season-long deal.
Kiwior, 24, started 18 Arsenal matches last season, challenging with Oleksandr Zinchenko and Takehiro Tomiyasu to play at left-back.
As revealed by Football Insider, Arsenal are now confident of completing a deal to sign Riccardo Calafiori, pushing the Polish defender even further down the list of options.
Arsenal to allow Jakub Kiwior loan exit as Calafiori deal edges closer
Kiwior joined Arsenal from Italian outfit Spezia in January 2023 in a deal worth £20million, and clubs are keen on seeing him return to the Serie A.
Since his arrival at the Emirates, Kiwior has made 38 appearances, including seven in the Champions League as he continues to grow his experience as a player.
The 24-year-old featured 30 times across all competitions last season, although 12 of those appearances came from the bench as Arteta looked to sure up his back line.
He also featured three times at Euro 2024 before Poland were eliminated in the group stage.
A season-long loan deal is now on the cards with Arsenal struggling to find a place for him in their team just 18 months after spending a large fee on securing his services.
Arteta is desperate to improve the quality across his squad, with the signing of Calafiori in line as the next step towards his ambitions of winning the title.
Arsenal have finished behind Manchester City in consecutive seasons now, and are keen to leapfrog their title rivals to mark their return to the top of English football.
In other news, Marseille are readying an offer to sign Eddie Nketiah.
