Spotted: Player with zero senior apperances in 24/25 arrives with Rangers squad v FCSB

Zak Lovelace has been spotted with the Rangers squad as they checked in at Ibrox ahead of the Europa League tie against FCSB on 24 October.

The Bears posted a video on X of the players arriving, and the 18-year-old can be seen accompanying Philippe Clement and the rest of the first team.

The Light Blues have a tough mental challenge ahead of them after losing 1-0 to Kilmarnock on 20 October in the Scottish Premiership.

Could Zak Lovelace get Rangers opportunity v FCSB?

Lovelace joined Rangers in 2022 from Millwall for £100,000 [The Athletic, 2 July], where he became the second youngest player to play for the Lions on his debut.

However, while the 18-year-old was given a couple of opportunities last season, he has yet to make an appearance for the Gers in the current campaign, and Clement seems reluctant to give the youngster any chances.

Senior management did take him off early for the B team as they beat Stenhousemir 4-1 on 22 October [Four Lads], opening the door for minutes against the Romanians.

But that could change against FCSB on 24 October, with the Romanian outfit’s chairman already hinting at playing a weaker side against the Bears [Daily Record, 22 October].

Therefore, Clement could have the perfect opportunity to hand Lovelace some minutes if the fixture is going in the team’s favour towards the end of the game.

The Ibrox faithful have not been pleased with how the attackers have performed in recent weeks, and this could be the right time to show some faith in the English teenager.
