Leicester boss Steve Cooper has confirmed that he is not expecting any players to return from injury before Saturday’s trip to Arsenal.

Jannik Vestergaard remains out of action due to an ankle injury, while striker Patson Daka is also ruled out.

Jakub Stolarczyk is also out for some time due to a foot injury he suffered in pre-season and may not be back until early 2025.

‘We had a few bumps and bruises from the game against Everton and a few of the lads didn’t quite make it to be available for the game on Tuesday,’ said Cooper.

‘Everybody got through Tuesday’s game okay. With the boys that have been out for a little while, Vestergaard is still not available for the weekend so we’re as we were, there’s no change from the last Premier League game.’

On Stolarczyk he added: ‘He’s walked out onto the grass today (Thursday). He’s making good progress. We’re getting really good reports on his attitude to his recovery.

‘It was innocuous how he did it and he ended up breaking his foot. He’s been really positive around the place and he’s had a breakthrough getting back on the grass.’

The Foxes were in Carabao Cup action on Tuesday night, drawing 0-0 at Walsall and needing a penalty shootout to progress to the fourth round.

The newly-promoted side is yet to win a Premier League game this campaign, with three draws and two defeats from their opening five fixtures.

‘We’re working daily and trying to promote the team we want to be,’ said Cooper. ‘What we really want to do is put a complete performance together that gets a result. We’ve put together some really good things.

‘But we need to be consistent through a game, and we haven’t done that. We started well at Palace but then we had a spell where we under the cosh.

‘Against Everton, we were poor for the first half but were the dominant team in the second half. We have to be at the level all through the game, because that’s what the Premier League demands of you.

‘The players are clear in how we want to play, we train it every day. We have to show it. If you don’t have a way of playing, you don’t know what it looks like when it goes wrong.

‘But we do have a way of playing. We believe if we perform it consistently, we’ll get results.’
