Substantial investment to come at Everton after Daniel Friedkin news - report

Everton are set to receive a “substantial” investment in the club from Daniel Friedkin once his takeover is completed, according to iNews.

The American has agreed on a deal with Farhad Moshiri to buy the Toffees with just an announcement missing (Il Messaggero, 15 June), with confirmation expected imminently.

The Texan is expected to invest substantially in the academy, training ground and women’s team as well as the men’s first-team squad, while providing financial stability ahead of the move to Bramley-Moore Dock in 2025.

It’s been a really difficult last few years at Goodison Park, and Everton fans have been through the wringer under Moshiri’s ownership.

The club have suffered on and off the pitch and it’s no surprise there has been a major disconnect between the fans and the hierarchy at Everton, so change has been needed for a long time.

777 Partners were never the right candidates to take over so the fact that has finally been put to bed and won’t be happening can only be a good thing, and Friedkin seems like an ideal replacement by this notion.

If he is going to invest in the entire club and get the team back to where they once were then it’s a brilliant thing, and investment is exactly what is needed to make that happen.

Fans wanted someone to come in, restore the club’s traditions and get the organisation back on track and that is what Friedkin is looking to do. So long as he doesn’t break his promises, this could be a match made in heaven.
