Everton have “quite a bit of leeway” regarding Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) ahead of their takeover, according to The Esk.
While the Toffees have the freedom to manoeuvre when it comes to their PSR submission, they are still waiting for a verdict on the dispute with the Premier League over interest payments regarding Bramley-Moore Dock.
The Blues have been accused of breaching the interest payment threshold for 2022/23 by £16.96 million [The Guardian, 8 April], and the case is still outstanding.
When asked about the current situation regarding PSR and the stadium interest dispute, Paul Quinn, who goes by the moniker The Esk, wrote on BlueSky [18 December]: “I think there’s quite a bit of leeway regarding PSR, but you are right in that the Premier League case is still outstanding.”
Dan Friedkin needs to solve PSR issues at Everton
Farhad Moshiri’s management at The Toffees has caused turmoil, and the Goodison faithful can’t wait to see Dan Friedkin take control of the Blues soon.
Goodison News understands there’s still no concrete timeline for the takeover to be completed, but the Merseyside club aren’t worried.
The American owners must bring stability back and ensure Sean Dyche can keep the team in the Premier League with investments in the January transfer window.
Everton are 16th in the league table as things stand, just three points above the drop zone.
The Toffees have two tough fixtures in Chelsea and Manchester City next, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see them lose both games and drop further down the table.
Off-field issues have continued to bother the Blues despite multiple point deductions in the last few years, and The Friedkin Group must avoid repeating Moshiri’s blunders.
In other Everton news, Moshiri is set for a multi-million-pound windfall after the TFG takeover.
