Finance Expert: Premier League have seen Friedkin funds, they can kick on at Everton

Premier League officials will have seen proof of funds from The Friedkin Group ahead of their takeover confirmation at Everton, Dan Plumley has said.

The Americans could be hours away from confirmation at Goodison Park [Alan Myers], with Farhad Moshiri expected to have been in charge for his final Premier League game at Arsenal.

Plumley, a football finance expert, shared that funds will have been seen, allowing the Friedkins to push on with immediate plans in Merseyside.

“There is a bit of a maybe around what happens when Moshiri exits,” he exclusively told Goodison News.

“In terms of proof of funds for the club going forward with the new ownership group, that’s something the Premier League will have asked for, we know that.

“Whether that’s in the bank account or not, we don’t know, but if the Premier League are ratifying the takeover, they have seen some proof of funds.

“That’s a good thing, that’s the positive in all of this aside from what happens when Moshiri exits.

“Hopefully, that means the club and its new owners can push on, there is obviously January around the corner and that will be in the immediate plans.

“They will be looking to the bigger picture, and I guess another dynamic to that is if it does go through quickly and those owners can start to activate some of their plans in January, not necessarily from a spending point of view, but it may mean they feel less pressure to sell and we’ve talked about Branthwaite as an example.

“There are lots of little dynamics in the background there.”

This is the excellent news that everyone at Goodison Park has been waiting for.

With an announcement mooted as early as today on 18 December, eyes will be peeled waiting for that confirmation which will send cheers through the Mersey.
