“They’re a complete team” – Former AC Milan coach reveals why Lookman’s Atalanta can win Serie A

Two-time AC Milan manager, Arrigo Sacchi, has tipped Ademola Lookman’s Atalanta to win this season’s Serie A title, Soccernet.ng reports.

Gian Piero Gasperini masterminded La Dea to a historic campaign last season, winning the club’s first European trophy in grand style by knocking out German Bundesliga Champions, Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

Atalanta have signed up Ben Godfrey, Ibrahim Sulemana, Charles De Ketelaere, and Mateo Retegui, this summer as they look to continue their tip-top form this season.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview, Sacchi picked Gasperini’s men as the dark horses to lift the Italian Serie A when the season winds up next year.

“Can Atalanta aspire to the Scudetto? Why not? They are a complete team, and they have one of the greatest coaches who is also a strategist. He has a solid and serious company behind him. Of course, if we look at the economic aspect, and that is, how much money clubs invest in the market, then we must say that Atalanta cannot fight for the title, but I remain convinced that the companies are masters of preparing for the clarity of the project, and of the game. So I believe they can do well,” the former Italian coach said in quotes revealed by Calcio Napoli.

Atalanta have started their League campaign in a perfect way, nicking a 4-nil win over Lecce, but could face more trouble with Ademola Lookman and Teun Koopmeiners likely to exit the Gewiss Stadium amidst interest from PSG and Juventus respectively.
