'This situation...' - Alan Myers issues Everton takeover verdict as A-Cap lawyers issue response

Sky Sports news editor Alan Myers does not think the Everton takeover will be impacted due to the A-Cap and Leadenhall situation.

This comes after A-CAP’s counsel responded to the 1 October letter regarding the takeover stating that Leadenhall didn’t include A-CAP in its information requests.

Per the Liverpool Echo [2 October] the matter is expected to move along in the coming weeks and months.

Myers wrote on X: “All you really need to know is that I don’t think the takeover process would be where it is if there was a concern over this situation.”

The Friedkin Group still have some work to do before the Everton takeover is finalised

The Friedkin Group, in collaboration with A-CAP, must finalise and gain court approval for their agreement over the £200million loan, addressing Leadenhall’s concerns about asset-stripping.

This would involve presenting a clear and legally sound case to the New York court to demonstrate that the deal does not undermine Leadenhall’s interests.

Additionally, continuous dialogue and perhaps negotiation with Leadenhall might be necessary to mitigate any adversarial actions they might consider, possibly involving concessions or reassurances regarding the club’s financial management post-takeover.

Furthermore, all parties involved need to expedite the Premier League’s Owners and Directors Test for The Friedkin Group, ensuring all regulatory and legal checks are swiftly cleared.

This process should be accompanied by transparent communication with fans and stakeholders to maintain trust and stability during this transitional period.

Fans will be hoping that there are no more obstacles with regard to the takeover as there have been numerous false dawns.

In other Everton news, adversarial measures may be on the cards with regards to the takeover amid a £200million development.
