Tottenham can repeat Kulusevski trick with Nicolo Fagioli transfer

Tottenham could repeat their Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur tricks by signing Nicolo Fagioli from Juventus.

Italian journalist Mirko Di Natale reported via X [3 December] that Spurs are showing interest in the Italy international ahead of the January transfer window.

Ange Postecoglou’s side, though, face competition from Crystal Palace and Marseille for the 23-year-old.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reported on 30 November that Juventus are prepared to “sacrifice” the midfielder for £20.7million in January. That sum would not be an issue for a club adhering to PSR guidelines [The Athletic].

Moreover, Spurs have had great success doing business with the Serie A giants, as evidenced by Kulusevski and Bentancur’s impact in North London.

The Premier League outfit lured the pair away from Turin in January 2022 during Fabio Paratic’s stint as sporting director.

Bentancur arrived at Tottenham for a deal worth £21.5m, while Kulusevski’s loan-to-permanent arrangement cost the club a total of £33.9m [Sky Sports & The Evening Standard].

Not only were the transfer fees sensible but also the players have proven to offer great value to Spurs so far.

With Fagioli valued at a similar price, he could soon become the third player to go straight from Juventus to the fans’ hearts.

Primarily a central midfielder, the Italian has made 15 appearances across competitions for the Bianconeri this season.
