Ange Postecoglou would be wise to keep an eye on Reiss Elliott-Parris at Tottenham
Postecoglou has several talented young players coming through in North London.
This includes the likes of Luca Williams-Barnett, who has been compared to Mikey Moore and was sat on the bench for Spurs’ 1-1 draw with Fulham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday [1 December].
Junai Byfield is another player who has been making noise at Under-18 level this season and has consequently been handed a first-team opportunity as a result.
And it seems as though Postecoglou now has a brand-new talent emerging at Hotspur Way who he will be keen to take a closer look at.
That player is Elliott-Parris, a 17-year-old forward who has been shining for the Under-18s as of late.
And the youngster had perhaps his most impactful performance yet last time out, scoring twice as Stuart Lewis’ side drew 3-3 with Chelsea’s Under-18s at Cobham Training Ground in the Under-18 Premier League on Saturday [30 November].
Ange Postecoglou to keep an eye on Tottenham gem Reiss Elliott-Parris?
Having appeared in every Under-18 Premier League match as a substitute this season, Elliott-Parris has now started the last four matches for Spurs in the competition.
And he has demonstrated his immense potential in that time, scoring three goals in those four matches, having also contributed two assists earlier in the season.
Just one day before his brace against Chelsea, Elliott-Parris played 12 minutes off the bench as Spurs’ Under-21s thrashed Middlesbrough’s Under-21s 6-1 at Hotspur Way in Premier League 2 [29 November].
This therefore demonstrates how highly thought of Elliott-Parris is behind the scenes in North London. As a result, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Postecoglou was keeping a close eye on the player.
And if he is, it might not be too long until we see Elliott-Parris involved with the first team, an opportunity which has been handed to several of his Under-18 and Under-21 teammates so far this season.
In other Tottenham news, Daniel Levy could pull off a masterstroke as £25million transfer news emerges.
