Tottenham pick favourite option to replace Postecoglou in sack decision

Tottenham have identified Kieran McKenna as their first choice in case Ange Postecoglou is sacked, according to FootballTransfer.

The news outlet reports [6 December] that the North Londoners have shortlisted the Ipswich Town boss as their favourite target if they decide to part ways with the Australian, who was abused by the fans after the Bournemouth loss.

Spurs have won just one of their last four Premier League matches after being beaten 1-0 by the Cherries in the Premier League on 5 December, and Postecoglou risks being relieved of his duties.

The Lilywhites have been inconsistent throughout the season, albeit they’re still not far off the European place in the table.

Postecoglou might be struggling to get his side to perform week in, week out, but the 59-year-old’s style of play is one of the best in the English top flight.

The former Celtic manager gives Pep Guardiola a run for his money with the attacking football on display in N17.

Tottenham have gotten the better of Manchester City twice in recent weeks, and it feels like some fans have forgotten those results.

While it’s true that the Australian needs to change up his tactics a bit at times, with a plan B nowhere in sight when things go wrong, he’s still the best man for the job at the North London club.

Spurs haven’t won a trophy for 16 years now, and despite Postecoglou’s early season suggestion that the Lilywhites will break that curse in the current campaign, it looks like that’ll continue.

Instead of taking aim at the 59-year-old, the fans should be asking questions about Daniel Levy and the shoddy recruitment since he’s been in N17.

McKenna has done a brilliant job at Ipswich, but it’d be sensible for the North Londoners to stick with their current head coach.
