Tottenham v Wolves: Dorrington spotted with first-team squad ahead of kick-off

Alfie Dorrington has been spotted with the Tottenham first team ahead of their clash with Wolves in the Premier League on Sunday.

Postecoglou is expected to make three changes at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 29 December, with the Australian set to potentially be without all four of his senior centre-back options.

According to George Bann via X (27 December), Yves Bissouma is the man who is expected to fill in alongside Archie Gray, a decision branded “pathetic” by some supporters.

However, in footage posted to Spurs’ official X account (29 December), Dorrington can be seen arriving with the first team, suggesting he could be involved against Wolves.

Postecoglou is without a host of first-team options against Wolves, although one long-term absentee is expected to return to the bench at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.

As a result, the Australian could be in serious trouble, with fans expected to turn on the Spurs boss if their side lose against the West Midlands outfit.

However, when news emerged that Bissouma could start at centre-back, it made it hard to feel any sympathy for Postecoglou, as this is simply a ridiculous decision considering it isn’t the Mali international’s preferred position.

Dorrington is a centre-back, and although he hasn’t started yet for the first team, this would be the perfect opportunity to throw him in at the deep end.

Therefore, fans will no doubt hope to see the 19-year-old start against Wolves, and footage of him arriving is an encouraging sign that might happen.

Should he be snubbed, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the England youth international sought an exit from the club.
