Trent Alexander-Arnold 'refuses' Liverpool contract offer - report

Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold has reportedly turned down a contract offer from the Premier League giants as Real Madrid circle.

According to Spanish outlet Sport 45, the 25-year-old is a priority target for the European Champions alongside Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies.

The right-back is one of three vitally important Liverpool players whose contracts are due to expire at the end of the season, alongside Virgil van Dijk and Mo Salah.

So far there has been little progress in tying the trio down to new deals after a disappointing transfer window for Arne Slot’s side.

Football Insider revealed (September 7) that Alexadner-Arnold is the most likely of three contract rebels at Liverpool to sign a new deal.

The Merseyside club have had an electric start to the Premier League season under new manager Arne Slot, winning all three of their Premier League games without conceding a goal.

Alexander-Arnold has started in each of their games but has been substituted by his new manager in all of them.

The defender was visibly annoyed after being taken off in their opening game against Brentford with Slot having to quell any suggestion of a falling out between the two in his post-match press conference.

Liverpool and Slot will be hoping they can keep their 100 per cent record going as they face Nottingham Forest at Anfield on Saturday, 14th September, after the international break.
