'Understand': Arsenal have just received bid for 'fantastic' player with talks now underway - Fabrizio Romano

Arsenal now have just a matter of days remaining in the transfer window to make any late adjustments to their squad.

It has not been a busy window for last season’s top three in the Premier League with minimal business done by those clubs.

Mikel Arteta has only seen Riccardo Calafiori officially confirmed as a new Arsenal player over the summer with at least one more expected.

It is now just a matter of time before signing number two is announced after Mikel Merino has undergone his medical at Arsenal.

However, there could now be a handful of players who are moving on from north London over the coming days.

And there has just been a bid lodged for one of their players who could well find his future elsewhere by the end of play on Friday.

Arsenal receive opening bid for Eddie Nketiah from Crystal Palace

Aaron Ramsdale’s proposed move to Southampton has hit the rocks in recent days but it seems as if he is not the only player whose future has also taken a twist.

A move to Nottingham Forest fell through for Eddie Nketiah over the weekend but it seems as if he could still depart north London.

Moving across the capital could now be on the cards with Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace showing an interest in Nketiah.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Crystal Palace have now lodged their first bid for Nketiah with talks ongoing.

Nketiah is said to be open to a move away from Arsenal with a real lack of game time on offer for him under Arteta.

The striker has now greenlit the prospect of joining Palace over the coming days with the clock now ticking down on an exit from the Emirates.

Having been hailed as ‘fantastic‘, Nketiah is viewed as a real option to bolster Palace’s attack after losing one of their key players earlier in the window.

What Mikel Arteta said on Saturday about Eddie Nketiah’s future

Arsenal were in action on Saturday with an away trip to Aston Villa which actually saw Nketiah feature on the bench.

Arsenal’s other out-and-out striker Gabriel Jesus was missing through injury but Nketiah did not make it onto the pitch.

Speaking after the game, Arteta did not give too much away about where Nketiah’s future may lie ahead of next week’s deadline.

“At the moment Eddie is our player. He’s very committed to us. Regardless of the noise, he’s here and he’s committed being here. He’s really happy that we won the game,” Arteta told the media after the game.
