Victor Osimhen’s future continues to be a hot transfer topic with Galatasaray reportedly considering making his loan move from Napoli permanent for €81 million in January, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 25-year-old Nigerian striker, who joined the Turkish giants on loan until the end of the season, has quickly impressed, registering two goals and four assists in his first four matches for the club.
According to Corriere dello Sport as per Fichajes, Galatasaray are weighing up activating the €81 million buyout clause in Osimhen’s loan deal to secure his services long-term.
This would allow Napoli to pocket a significant transfer fee early next year.
However, Galatasaray are not the only club interested in Osimhen, with Chelsea also keeping a close eye on the situation.
Chelsea had previously expressed interest in Osimhen during the summer transfer window and are likely to return with a fresh bid, possibly in January.
The London club could either trigger the current €81 million release clause or wait until June when the fee drops to around €75 million. Either way, a bidding war seems imminent.
While Galatasaray’s vice president has stated that the club does not intend to part ways with Osimhen in January, there are growing signs that they may push for a permanent deal.
With other European powerhouses watching closely, Osimhen’s performances in Turkey are setting the stage for a high-stakes transfer battle as the January window approaches.
Osimhen’s value continues to soar, and it remains to be seen whether Galatasaray can fend off Chelsea’s interest and secure the Nigerian star beyond 2025.
