Charlotte Grant let Robert Vilahamn down as Tottenham Women lost 3-0 to Manchester United Women at Leigh Sports Village on Sunday (13 October).

After a positive start to the season, things have unravelled in recent weeks for Vilahamn’s side.

Having won two and drawn one of their first three matches of the 2024/25 season, Spurs have now lost their last two matches in the Barclays Women’s Super League.

They were beaten 3-2 by Liverpool Women at Brisbane Road on Sunday (6 October) and followed that up with defeat against the Red Devils.

Vilahamn would have already been disappointed as it was to see his side lose back-to-back games. However, Grant’s performance in particular against United would have really frustrated the Spurs boss.

Grant had an afternoon to forget at the Leigh Sports Village.

As per Sofascore, she was dribbled past three times, as the left-back struggled to cope with Manchester United’s attack, which included former Spurs loanee Grace Clinton.

While Grant did make two tackles, one interception and one clearance, she also made one error which led to a shot.

In addition, she won just two of her nine ground duels and lost her one aerial duel, while giving possession away 20 times.

The 23-year-old tried going forward, completing 71 per cent of her passes. However, her one cross into the box was inaccurate, while she was unsuccessful with her one dribble attempt.

Therefore, Vilahamn will be hoping to see much more from the defender next time out.
