View: Ange dealt blow as injury concern emerges after what happened to 100% Tottenham ace today

Ange Postecoglou has a fresh injury concern regarding Tottenham midfielder Lucas Bergvall.

Postecoglou would have been watching on anxiously during the October international break. The Australian would have been desperate to see all of Spurs’ international stars return to North London at 100 per cent.

However, it seems as though that won’t be the case.

As per Svensk Fotboll on X (14 October), Spurs midfielder Bergvall has left the Sweden national team due to a fresh injury concern.

The statement read, “Lucas Bergvall misses tonight’s match against Estonia (14 October).

“The midfielder has suffered a minor injury and has left the men’s national team gathering in Estonia to focus on his rehabilitation.”

This will be of particular frustration to Postecoglou. Just as the injury situation looked to be improving in North London, the Australian has been dealt a fresh blow.

Lucas Bergvall injury concern emerges at Tottenham

Everybody connected with Spurs will be hopeful that Bergvall’s injury is minor, as it has been said to be.

The 18-year-old isn’t necessarily the first name on the team sheet at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. However, he is an important squad player, and with games coming thick and fast, Postecoglou will need him.

Bergvall has played eight times in all competitions for Tottenham this season, starting three times, although one of those starts did end in rather disappointing fashion.

He grabbed his first assist for the club during a 2-1 victory over Ferencváros in the UEFA Europa League at the Groupama Arena (3 October).

That day Bergvall completed 90 per cent of his passes, while 100 per cent of his long balls were accurate (Sofascore).

Two of the Swede’s passes were key. However, he did struggle in some aspects, only succeeding with 50 per cent of his dribbles and failing to provide an accurate cross from three attempts.

He also won just two of his eight ground duels and was dribbled past once. However, he is still young, and will no doubt only improve as he gains more experience.

Therefore, Postecoglou will hope his injury isn’t too serious and he can get him back on the pitch sooner rather than later.
