Everton suffered a humiliating 4-0 defeat against Manchester United on Sunday at Old Trafford.

The Toffees started the game on 1 December strongly but once the hosts scored their first goal, they took control of proceedings.

Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee, two players who’ve struggled in front of goal this season, managed to score braces against Sean Dyche’s side.

Here are our player ratings from the game:

Jordan Pickford – 3

Looked nervous in possession and his shot stopping was also atrocious in the game. According to Sofascore, he conceded 2.78 goals more than he should have which only puts into perspective how bad he was in the game. It seemed like each time United took a shot that was on target, the ball found its way into the back of the net.

Ashley Young – 3

Kept getting bullied on the right and that cannot entirely be attributed to him as he’s only doing so much given he’s 9. He’s nowhere near Premier League standard and he kept getting bullied by the United players, Bruno Fernandes in particular.

James Tarkowski – 0

Struggled in defence and looked out of it from the first minute. Oftentimes, he failed to track his runners and he did not play with the intensity that was needed so it comes as no surprise that Dyche’s side conceded goals aplenty. For the fourth goal, he so easily gave the ball away and this was the kind of performance that can get you dropped. Michael Keane should be given the start for the next one if he’s fit.

Jarrad Branthwaite – 2

A shocking game from the England international. Made a number of defensive errors and did not look comfortable in possession. Each time he was pressured by the United attackers, he appeared to give the ball way. This may arguably be his worst performance so far for the Toffees.

Vitalii Mykolenko – 2

Much like the rest of the Everton defenders, it was a dismal performance from the left-back. He made a few terrible mistakes and the visitors were deservedly punished for them. He even got bullied defensively, losing all of his duels.

Abdoulaye Doucoure – 3

Struggled to play simple five yard passes and did not look confident in possession, like a number of his teammates. Did very little to shield the backline in what was an extremely disappointing display from the midfielder.

Idrissa Gueye – 4

Got run past on a number of occasions and failed to do what he was in the team for. While he was tidy with his passes, there were plenty of issues with his game which would make Dyche livid.

Jesper Lindstrom – 3

Completed just six passes in the 67 minutes he was on the pitch so it goes without saying that he was an isolated figure in the final third. He even had a zero percent accuracy with his crosses which only goes to show how disappointing his performance was.

Dwight McNeil – 5

Tried to make things happen in the final third but while his intentions were right, his execution was from it. He was wayward with his passing and even did not look overly comfortable in front of goal for the Toffees.

Iliman Ndiaye – 4

Drew defenders to him whenever he had the ball but failed to be on the same page with the rest of his teammates. Like McNeil, he seemed to be wanting to do things, but struggled. Dyche left him on for 90 minutes but he rarely got into those threatening attacking positions.

Beto – 5

Had a humiliating moment in the first half but he at least cannot be faulted for putting in an effort and having a go at it. Unlike most of his teammates, he did seem to give it his all until he was on the field of play.
