Iliman Ndiaye has shown Everton boss Sean Dyche that it’s a mistake to continue playing him on the left wing after his performance during Senegal’s 2-0 win over Burundi on Tuesday.

The Toffees attacker played a starring role in his country’s victory at right wing and will no doubt be coming back to Merseyside with plenty of momentum behind him.

Since his summer arrival, Ndiaye has been a solid acquisition and has recently become a mainstay in Dyche’s team.

Unfortunately, however, he hasn’t really been involved much in terms of goals with the attacker chipping in with just three goal involvements thus far.

Over the most recent national break, however, the Senegal international has played on the right and in the centre which shows the versatility he possesses.

Perhaps, in order for Dyche to get the most out of the former Sheffield United man, he’ll have to experiment with him in other positions on the pitch because there is plenty more to unlock given the talent Ndiaye has.

Iliman Ndiaye impresses away from Everton

Senegal outclassed Burundi throughout the clash on 19 November with Ndiaye’s team dominating the game on all fronts.

As per Sofascore, in the time the attacker was on the pitch, he had 33 touches of the ball and managed to maintain a pass accuracy of 95 per cent with just one of his 20 passes going wayward.

He also managed to bag himself an assist and had a shot on target, he did, however, end up missing one ‘big chance’ but when you’re as involved as Ndiaye usually is in a game of football, that’s bound to happen.

Two of the 19 accurate passes were deemed ‘key’ which shows how positive his impact on Senegal’s attack was.

Much like with Everton, he was deployed on the wing and won two of his five ground duels while also winning all of them in the air (1).

He did lose possession of the ball nine times but his contributions upfront easily outweighed the amount of times he lost the ball.

Ndiaye may have only been on the pitch for 45 minutes but the fact he had as much of a positive impact as he did in such a short amount of time, shows how impactful the “wonderfully gifted” ace could become for Dyche if he’s played elsewhere.

Of course, Dyche will have to consider what works for other members of his team such as Dwight McNeil and Jesper Lindstrom who are both in decent form but it feels like some experimentation is needed within the squad if they want to survive this term.
