Ange Postecoglou would be wise to replace Tottenham ace Brennan Johnson at half-time against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park (27 October).
Despite arriving full of confidence after back-to-back wins, it was Crystal Palace who took the lead just past the half-hour mark.
Postecoglou’s side made a mess at the back as they tried to play the ball out, which allowed Jean-Philippe Mateta an opportunity to put the hosts ahead, an opportunity which he took without hesitation.
With Son once again unavailable, Mikey Moore was handed a first Premier League start. However, the 17-year-old and his fellow attackers have struggled to make an impression at Selhurst Park.
In truth, Spurs didn’t deserve much out of the first half and if the North London side are going to get back into the contest, Postecoglou needs to make changes at the break, with Johnson the player who must make way.
Ange Postecoglou must axe Brennan Johnson at half-time in Tottenham v Crystal Palace
None of Spurs’ forward players covered themselves in glory in the first half. However, Johnson in particular really struggled to get into the game.
As per Sofascore, the Welshman has completed just 50 per cent of his passes, managing just 16 touches overall.
In addition, his one cross into the box was inaccurate, while his one long ball forward was also inaccurate.
Johnson won zero per cent of his overall duels, losing the two he contested on the ground and the two that he contested in the air as well.
He also gave possession away six times, gave away one foul and was dribbled past once. Therefore, if Postecoglou wants to get Spurs back into the match, he needs to hook Johnson at the break.
Otherwise, Spurs could be staring down the barrel of a very disappointing defeat.
In other Tottenham news, one player could leave the club in January after a recent transfer update.
