Ange Postecoglou could make seven changes when Tottenham take on Brighton at the Amex Stadium on Sunday (6 October).

It has been an incredible few weeks for Spurs.

Postecoglou and his players are on a five-match winning streak as they prepare for their third away match within the space of a week.

Victory over Brighton would see them head into the October international break riding high on a wave of momentum. However, it won’t be easy, especially with such little time between their 2-1 UEFA Europa League win over Ferencváros at the Groupama Arena (3 October) and the clash at the Amex.

Therefore, Postecoglou is likely to make a host of changes to the side which started in Hungary.

Guglielmo Vicario is one of the four players who will be expecting to keep his place against Brighton.

The Italian goalkeeper would have been frustrated as he was just minutes away from keeping a third consecutive clean sheet in Hungary, as he continues to improve despite question marks being raised against him.

However, he still made four saves and completed 96 per cent of his passes (Sofascore), and will no doubt feel confident going into the Brighton clash.

Cristian Romero and Pedro Porro will also likely keep their places on Sunday, with the latter excelling in the Europa League, playing one key pass, succeeding with 100 per cent of his dribbles and hitting the woodwork.

Ben Davies and Archie Gray will likely make way for Micky van de Ven and Destiny Udogie, should the Italian be deemed fit enough to feature, with Postecoglou sharing an update on Friday (via Football London, 4 October).

Postecoglou could change his entire midfield against Brighton. Lucas Bergvall in particular struggled to make an impact as he was handed an opportunity against Ferencváros, with the 18-year-old winning just two of his eight ground duels and succeeding with only 50 per cent of his dribbles, while zero per cent of his crosses into the box were accurate.

He will likely make way for James Maddison. Meanwhile, Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma could be replaced by Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur.

Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear were handed their first Spurs starts against Ferencváros. Moore in particular impressed as he completed 80 per cent of his passes and created one big chance.

However, the young duo will likely expect to make way for Dominic Solanke and Brennan Johnson, the latter stepping off the bench to score his fifth goal in as many games as his incredible run continues.

Meanwhile, as a result of a concerning injury update on Son Heung-min, Postecoglou might have no choice but to stand by Timo Werner despite the forward’s disappointing display in Hungary. The German missed one big chance, succeeded with just 50 per cent of his dribbles and was dribbled past once.

In other Tottenham news, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has been name-dropped as the club enter “advanced” investment talks.
