View: Ange to be thrilled as Fabrizio Romano drops update on Tottenham-bound sensation

Ange Postecoglou will be excited about the prospect of getting Luka Vušković involved with the Tottenham first-team.

Spurs have several exciting young players in North London already making an impact at first-team level.

One example of those young players is 17-year-old Mikey Moore, who could be in line to feature against Brighton at the Amex Stadium on Sunday (6 October).

Will Lankshear also recently made his debut for the club. Meanwhile, the likes of Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray have made several appearances this season.

However, there is also another young player set for Tottenham who is currently making an impact at first-team level elsewhere in Europe.

That player is centre-back Vušković, who is playing his football on loan with Westerlo in Belgium.

Spurs signed Vušković from Hajduk Split for £12million, beating out several European sides to his signature (via Evening Standard, 25 September 2023). The Croatian will join Tottenham in the summer of 2025 after he turns 18.

And Vušković has sent a clear message to Postecoglou that he is ready for the move.

Westerlo drew 2-2 with Beerschot at the Het Kuipje in the Belgian Pro League on Friday (4 October), with Vušković scoring a brace for the home side.

That is now four goals in 10 league games this season for the 17-year-old defender, and after his latest goalscoring heroics, Fabrizio Romano issued an update on the player.

As per his official X account (5 October), Romano wrote, “Tottenham are very happy with Luka Vuskovic’s development now on loan at Westerlo in Belgium.”

It is no surprise that Spurs are happy with Vušković. Therefore, it will be interesting to see how they manage the player’s arrival.

He isn’t the only exciting young defender pushing for the Spurs first-team, with John Wenham recently raving about one 16-year-old already at the club.

As a result, it seems as though Postecoglou has some decisions to make on these young defenders, and it will be interesting to see how the Australian handles that.

However, the 59-year-old will no doubt be counting down the days until he can take a closer look at Vušković at Hotspur Way.

In other Tottenham news, Yves Bissouma is likely to be one of seven changes for the trip to the Amex Stadium to face Brighton.
