The Everton attack has likely seen the most changes happen to it this season than any other area of the Toffees’ team.

Last term was likely something of an eye-opener for Everton as they were sanctioned by the Premier League for two breaches of their financial rules.

This resulted in eight points being deducted from their Premier League total but still failed to relegate the Merseyside club.

The main reason behind this was the solidity of their defence as Jarrad Branthwaite held down the fort.

The Toffees’ attack, on the other hand, was far from its best. Dominic Calvert-Lewin was once again hit with injuries and failed to perform when called upon.

This is likely one of the main reasons that Iliman Ndiaye was brought in so swiftly so that they could attempt to improve their attacking fortunes.

This is why after it was reported that the only way that Armando Broja would consider a move to Merseyside would be if Calvert-Lewin were to leave [i News, 24 July], it now seems essential for Everton to sanction the Englishman’s exit.

Everton need to allow Dominic Calvert-Lewin to exit this summer

Calvert-Lewin has led Everton’s attacking line ever since arriving at the club back in 2016.

However, thanks to the many injuries he has unfortunately suffered, he’s never been able to perform consistently over the course of multiple seasons.

Granted, he’s the best number nine that the club currently has but his injury history raises some questions about his reliability and given the fact that many clubs are interested in the attacker, a move makes sense.

Especially since Broja is still just 22 years old and has plenty of room to develop further.

The Albania international has played a total of 172 times across his career and has managed to contribute to a total of 54 goals during that time.

Indeed, his last couple of seasons have been quite ‘topsy-turvy’ form-wise but there’s no doubt that the quality he showed at Southampton is still within him somewhere.

This will certainly be one to keep a keen eye on over the course of the summer window.
