Everton have finally started to see the power of their squad in the final third in recent weeks, with their Premier League fortunes turning around.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s form in front of goal has left a lot to be desired but Iliman Ndiaye and Dwight McNeil have been some of the brightest sparks in Sean Dyche’s squad.
Things still aren’t perfect though, with the likes of Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom struggling to find consistency to finish off the perfect puzzle.
Gazzetta dello Sport (16 October, page 3) have recently linked the Toffees with a potential swoop for AC Milan attacker Samuel Chukwueze.
The Nigerian international may only cost £11.7million, making a deal more than achievable, even if the Blues have a minimal budget.
Samuel Chukwueze would be statement signing from Everton
Of course, Everton’s January transfer plans rely heavily on whether Dan Friedkin’s takeover is completed in time.
While everything seems to be going smoothly in that regard, there’s still plenty of time between now and January for things to go sideways.
The signing of Chukwueze would be a major statement from the Toffees and would show they mean business and are ready to fight up the Premier League table.
Everton’s season may have started slowly but their last three games before the international break saw them get five points, which shows they are at least heading in the right direction.
Chukwueze hasn’t yet found his feet in the Serie A since his transfer to the Milan giants last summer so a new setting could be exactly what he needs to refind his form.
His presence would no doubt bolster Dyche’s attacking ranks tenfold and would increase the strength of the team across the board, with a statement ready to be made.
In other Everton news, Sean Dyche has shared an injury update ahead of the Toffees’ game against Ipswich.
