Everton managerial target Maurizio Sarri wants to return to management before January 2025 after parting ways with Lazio in March.

In an interview with Gazzetta in September, the former Chelsea boss revealed that the job that gives him the most adrenaline would be the one he accepts.

But he also did admit that he wanted to be in a job at the start of the new year and he has been linked with a few jobs.

Thus, if the to-be Toffees owners are serious about hiring him, they’ve got to make a move quickly as he may say yes elsewhere in the coming weeks.

Recently, Gazzetta reported on 4 November that he was among a host of names being considered by Roma.

The list includes Frank Lampard, Graham Potter, and Massimiliano Allegri, among others.

Talks have already been held with the former Napoli boss to join Everton [TEAMtalk] and it’s clear that he’s someone who’s held in high regard by the current Roma owners.

If Sarri does not want to continue in Italy, being part of a new project on Merseyside would certainly be a tempting prospect for him.

Maurizio Sarri may be a good tactical fit for Everton

Sarri could be an astute choice for the Toffees due to his tactical acumen, particularly his philosophy of possession-based football, which could transform them into a more fluid and attacking side.

His experience in managing high-pressure environments, like at Napoli and Chelsea, equips him to handle the expectations at a club like Everton.

Moreover, the Italian’s ability to develop players and his proven track record in European competitions could elevate the club’s profile, aligning with the ambitions of the new ownership under The Friedkin Group.
