Tyrese Hall is surely becoming frustrated by his lack of opportunities at Tottenham.
Spurs’ Under-21s have had a campaign to forget thus far.
After dominating Premier League 2 during the 2023/24 season, the North London side are currently 24th in the division after eight matches this term.
They have won just twice in the competition all season and had another night to forget as they were thrashed 5-1 by Crystal Palace’s Under-21s at the VBS Community Stadium in Sutton on Friday (1 November).
It was the heaviest defeat of the season so far for Wayne Burnett’s side.
And after yet another miserable evening, Spurs sensation Hall is surely becoming frustrated in North London.
Tyrese Hall to seek Tottenham exit?
Most of Spurs’ struggles at Under-21 level this season can be explained by the fact that most key players from last season have either moved on permanently, on loan or are playing with the first team.
However, just like Alfie Dorrington, Hall hasn’t done any of those things. Despite making some noise at Hotspur Way during pre-season, Hall continues to feature with an underperforming Under-21s team.
He has started all eight Premier League 2 matches this season, scoring three goals and providing one assist. As he watches the likes of Will Lankshear and Mikey Moore handed first-team opportunities, he will be wondering why the same isn’t happening for him.
Spurs insider John Wenham has previously speculated that Hall would be handed his full debut in the UEFA Europa League this season. However, that is yet to happen.
The midfielder is clearly talented, and playing with an Under-21s team which most of his other talented teammates from last season have moved on from can’t be good for his development.
Therefore, Postecoglou needs to make a decision if he wants to keep the 19-year-old happy and avoid him seeking an exit route from the club.
Either Hall needs to be sent out on loan in January, or he needs to be offered more first-team opportunities where he is being tested.
Otherwise, Spurs are at risk of letting a serious talent go to waste. If Hall doesn’t feel as though he is progressing as he likes, the midfielder might start considering alternative options.
In other Tottenham news, the club’s plan for one “incredible” player has emerged amid exit speculation.
