Sean Dyche has been given an unwelcome headache ahead of Everton’s game against Brentford after Thomas Frank confirmed he expects three key players to all be back available for the match.
The Toffees welcome Frank’s side to Goodison Park this weekend as they look to add more points on the board and push themselves up from their current spot of 16th in the Premier League.
None of Bryan Mbeumo, Yoane Wissa and Ethan Pinnock played for their countries during the international break, and Frank confirmed via the club’s official website [21 November] that all three are in line to feature against Everton.
“All of them I expect to be available and ready,” he said. “All three situations are different minor issues.
“Sometimes a week’s rest can make all the difference, so I expect them to be ready. We’re very thankful for the cooperation from the three national teams.”
Brentford trio a concern for Sean Dyche and Everton
After a slow start to the season, the Everton boss will be eager to see his side get some good results under their belt and increase their points tally.
Their opponents have shown inconsistency in their form this season, meaning the Toffees were probably quite relieved to see some key players could have been missing for the Bees this weekend.
However, Frank’s assurance that they are available will certainly provide Dyche with a headache over his team selection going into the game.
With 15 goals between them so far, Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa are a force to be reckoned with for the Bees, and with both players seemingly fit enough to play, they could cause Everton some real problems in Saturday’s game.
The Toffees are guilty of conceding too many goals this season and now the boss, who is under increasing amounts of pressure, will be keen to have key player Jarrad Branthwaite available to him. However, he is waiting to be assessed ahead of the game.
It will be frustrating for the 53-year-old manager to see his opponent in the other dugout being able to select these dangerous attacking players while he awaits news on whether his key man, who could make a big difference in the game, will be match ready.
With pressure continuing to mount, it certainly gives the boss a headache as he looks to save his job.
In other Everton news, the Toffees have a decision to make over the future of out of favour loan player.
