Wenham moots England call-up for 18y/o Tottenham gem as 'Massive' claim emerges

John Wenham believes it won’t be long until Tottenham ace Archie Gray is considered for a senior England call-up.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose has suggested that the 18-year-old will play a “massive role” in North London this season.

Gray has started all five of Tottenham’s pre-season matches thus far, playing in several positions across the pitch.

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – claims this versatility will be key for Gray.

“I think Gray is going to play a massive role for Tottenham this season,” Wenham said.

“I think he will be involved in almost every game for the club, whether that is starting or off the bench. His versatility gives him lots of options to fit into the team.

“He is a real talent, and I don’t think it will be too long until he is considered for a senior England call-up. This is a very exciting addition for the club.

“I think he has a good passing style and temperament and I can see him getting better and better with each game he plays.”

Archie Gray to thrive at Tottenham under Ange Postecoglou?

It appears as though Postecoglou is a big fan of Gray based on pre-season.

The Australian has thrown the Spurs newbie in at the deep end and has therefore shown a lot of trust in him in the process.

However, Postecoglou must be careful not to overwhelm Gray and put too much pressure on the 18-year-old, considering he is still incredibly young and hasn’t yet kicked a ball in the Premier League.

Supporters will need to be patient with the brand-new signing. However, there is no doubt potential there, and it will be very exciting for the club if Gray can live up to that potential.
