'What I can promise': Omar Marmoush reacts to exit links amid Liverpool and Arsenal transfer speculation
"What I can promise _________." ????
In the 2024/2025 season, Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush has managed to propel his name amongst one of the most-talked about forwards in European football.
So much so that Arsenal scouted Marmoush, who has registered an impressive 30 goal contributions (18 goals and 12 assists) to his name in all competitions already.
Ian Wright suggested Arsenal to sign Marmoush in January as well, alongside Ademola Lookman.
Reputed journalist Christian Falk even revealed in November that Mohamed Salah recommended Marmoush to Liverpool as a potential signing.
Omar Marmoush (13) is trailing Bundesliga’s top goalscorer Harry Kane (14) by a single goal, which emphasises how phenomenal a season he is having.
Omar Marmoush admits he is “not thinking about a transfer” amid Liverpool and Arsenal links
In theory, the 25-year-old would automatically slot in at both Liverpool and Arsenal. At Anfield, Luis Diaz is thriving as a striker but his natural position remains out wide while Diogo Jota continues to be unreliable from a fitness perspective while Darwin Nunez seems to be a mere squad player under Arne Slot.
As for Mikel Arteta’s side, they simply lack a proven goalscoring number nine on their books.
Speaking to Sport Bild, Marmoush initially admitted that he feels honoured to be linked with elite clubs across world football.
“Of course, you hear about it in passing. I’m honored that people are talking about me. That shows that I’m obviously doing a good job. But it doesn’t concern me at all in my day-to-day life. My focus is solely on Eintracht Frankfurt and on being successful here.”
Marmoush was asked whether there is any league he prefers to play in, as the star striker confirmed he has no such definitive ambition in mind.
“There’s always a lot of speculation on the outside. But I don’t actually have a particular dream goal.”
Marmoush went on to pledge his loyalty to Eintracht Frankfurt, revealing that a transfer is not on his mind.
“What I can promise the fans is that I will give my all for Eintracht in every game. I am not thinking about a transfer. I am living in the here and now and enjoying my time in Frankfurt.”
Marmoush continued: “I feel very comfortable here. Eintracht believed in me and put their trust in me. I want to repay that trust with good performances and goals. What happens in the distant future, however, doesn’t interest me.”
“I want to continue to do my best so that at the end of the season we can say as a team: We have achieved something big.”

It seems like Liverpool and Arsenal seem like the two teams best equipped to win the Premier League title this season.

The Gunners are nine points behind the Reds but a title race is far from over in January.
However, if either Liverpool or Arsenal had a player like Marmoush in their ranks, they would likely be clear favourites to go the distance.
After all, even a forward of Bukayo Saka’s ilk, who has been Arsenal’s most productive player this campaign has less goal involvements (22, nine goals and 13 assists) than the Egyptian.
Salah, however has 37 goal contributions (20 goals and 17 assists) this season, trumping his fellow countryman.
However, Marmoush has far more goal involvements than Diaz (14, 12 goals and two assists) and Cody Gakpo (15, 11 goals and four assists), who have been Liverpool’s most productive players after Salah across all competitions this season.
Taking such statistics into account, it would come as no surprise if both clubs try their level best to sign Marmoush in the summer.
