‘One of his poorest games’: Tim Sherwood says £22m Tottenham player was terrible against Arsenal

Tottenham lost to Arsenal at the weekend, and, in all honesty, there wasn’t too much positive to say about Spurs’ performance on Sunday.

Tottenham were incredibly flat against a depleted Arsenal side, and their star players just didn’t turn up.

Indeed, the likes of Brennan Johnson, Dominic Solanke and James Maddison didn’t make anything happen, while Heung-Min Son was uncharacteristically quiet.

Speaking on Premier League Productions, Tim Sherwood has been dissecting Spurs’ loss to Arsenal, and he says that Son had one of his worst games for Tottenham at the weekend.

Heung-Min Son was poor against Arsenal

Sherwood shared his verdict on the £22m man’s showing in the north London derby.

“Son, that was one of his poorest games. He’s a prolific goalscorer in the north London derbies, but that just wasn’t his day,” Sherwood said.

Heung-Min Son couldn’t get going

Sherwood is right, Son was a bit of a non-factor against Arsenal at the weekend, but he wasn’t the only player who struggled.

Indeed, the entire Tottenham attack couldn’t get going against Arsenal, and that meant that Son was feeding off scraps.

Son was tidy enough in possession, he didn’t give the ball away in stupid areas and his decision making was good, but he couldn’t make any sort of impact due to the fact Tottenham’s attack continuously broke down.

Tottenham put out an incredibly attacking line-up against Arsenal at the weekend, but it was arguably one of the flattest performances Spurs have put in under Ange Postecoglou.

Tottenham face Brentford next week, and they need to put things right against the Bees because their start to the season so far has been uninspiring to say the least.

Spurs need a statement victory soon, because their current form simply isn’t good enough and fans will soon begin to get fed up if this continues.
