King speculates Tottenham could form partnership with Euro club after transfer announcement

Bryan King claims Tottenham could look to form a partnership with Belgian Pro League side Westerlo.

The ex-Spurs scout has speculated that the two clubs could be looking to work together more closely.

It comes after Tottenham announced via the club’s official website on Thursday (4 September), that Devine has joined Westerlo on a season-long loan, with Luka Vušković already at the Belgian club.

And King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – has speculated whether this is a coincidence or part of a bigger plan.

“Does this move mean that Spurs are going to try and form a partnership with this club?” King asked.

“Devine and Vušković both joining Westerlo could suggest that Spurs are looking to work together with the club more closely in the future.

“Or are two players just being sent there for this season to help build their careers? We will have to wait and see.”

Tottenham to form partnership with Belgian Pro League side Westerlo?

This is a positive loan move for Devine. He was unlikely to be handed many first-team minutes in North London this season.

Therefore, the 20-year-old needed to go elsewhere to play regular first-team football.

If Spurs were to strike some sort of partnership agreement with Westerlo, it could see the North London side send some of their talented young players on loan to Belgium.

Meanwhile, in return, Westerlo could make some of their more promising young players available to Tottenham.

Plenty of top talent has come out of Belgium. As a result, should this happen, it could prove to be very beneficial for Spurs.
