What Victor Osimhen said to goal-shy Boniface after Super Eagles’ 1-0 win against Libya

Super Eagles Victor Osimhen has thrown his support behind Victor Boniface, who continues to struggle to find the back of the net for Nigeria, Soccernet.ng reports.

Boniface fired blanks again as the Super Eagles secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Libya in the first leg of their 2025 AFCON qualifying doubleheader.

A late strike from Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, who came off the bench, handed Augustine Eguavoen’s men the much-needed win, but Boniface’s goal drought remained a talking point.

The Bayer Leverkusen forward, who has been in stellar form at the club level, is still searching for his first goal for the national team.

Despite his struggles, Osimhen—who was unable to feature in the game due to an injury picked up during a match against Kasimpasa—took to social media to offer his encouragement.

The Napoli striker, speaking in Pidgin, assured Boniface that the goals will come, saying, “No shaking my guy, e go come, and when e finally come, e no go stop.”

After the game, Boniface humorously questioned his “village people” on social media, referencing his lack of goals for Nigeria.

He received an outpouring of support from Nigerian fans and celebrities, including rapper Odumodublvck, who commented, “Goal or no goal. You ball,” showing appreciation for Boniface’s efforts on the pitch.
