'Who do they think they are?' - Tom English rages at Tottenham v Rangers live on air

Tom English was raging at the arrogance on show from Tottenham against Rangers in the Europa League on Thursday at Ibrox.

The Bears were sensational on another European night on 12 December, drawing 1-1 after Dejan Kulusevski cancelled out Hamza Igamane’s opener.

English was left stunned by the likes of Timo Werner and James Maddison, who kept giving the ball away despite not being under pressure at times.

Speaking live on BBC Sportsound [12 December, 20:49], English could not believe what he was watching at Ibrox on Thursday.

“Timo Werner, every time he gets it, he gives it away,” he said.

“Maddison as well, trying an outside of the boot across the pitch, it gets intercepted, Werner tries a clever one around the corner, gets intercepted.

“Who do they think they are like? I think there has been a huge amount of arrogance.”

Ange Postecoglou and others can rage at the Spurs squad, but it was Philippe Clement’s men who forced them into constant errors with their intensity.

Despite four changes and the likes of Ianis Hagi and Danilo missing out, the Gers were at their best again and should have taken all three points.

Cyriel Dessers came off the bench to miss a huge chance and see another strike disallowed for a clear offside in the dying moments.

All attention will now switch to Sunday 15 December and the Scottish League Cup final against Celtic, with the exact same mentality needed at Hampden Park.

With changes made and some players rested, Rangers need to go into the game with this attitude and put that kind of pressure on their fierce rivals immediately.

Fans will be travelling to Hampden with great confidence after watching that draw against a so-called Premier League giant this evening.
