He lasted just 10 minutes on Thursday night...
Manchester United winger Antony was stretchered off after suffering a sprained ankle against Fenerbahce on Thursday.
Erik ten Hag’s side settled for a point in Istanbul on Thursday night despite taking the lead through Christian Eriksen in the first-half.
Youssef En-Nesyri levelled for Jose Mourinho’s side early in the second period with United pushing for a winner late on.
Antony was thrown on after 73 minutes, replacing Marcus Rashford, but was on the ground calling for treatment 10 minutes later.
The Brazil international initially looked like he would continue but went down again moments later, signalling to the United bench he needed to come off with a stretcher brought onto the pitch.
Antony was carried off in the 89th minute and was later seen wearing a protective boot and using crutches as he left the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium.
United have been assessing Antony’s injury in recent days with reports now suggesting the former Ajax star has avoided serious injury. The Daily Mail report the sprained ankle is not as bad as first feared with it still unclear how long he will be unavailable for.
Antony has struggles for first-team chances this season with his sole starting appearance coming in the Carabao Cup against Barnsley. In the Premier League he has managed just 27 minutes of game time across two appearances.
In September, Ten Hag urged the wideman to earn his spot in the team by showing consistency in training.
On Thursday night, Antony was brought on to replace Rashford ahead of Amad Diallo with the United boss pleased with the Brazilian’s determination.
‘It’s really unlucky for him,’ Ten Hag said. ‘I feel real compassion for him, when he worked so hard in training.
‘His training performances are that good that he deserved to come on. When you have to come off so quickly, that is really sad to see.
‘Hopefully, it’s not too bad, we have to wait 24 hours for what the assessment is.’
