Motherwell chief Brian Caldwell admits a time will come when Rangers target Lennon Miller will leave the club.

The Daily Record reported on 15 November that along with Gers, Celtic and Southampton are also keeping tabs on the 18-year-old midfielder.

However, Motherwell do not seem to be in any rush to sell him and in case they do, it would have to be the right deal for them and the club.

Caldwell said: “We are all realistic to realise there will come a time when Lennon will move on. He is an extremely talented player who we all see every week. But that time will only come when the deal is right for the club and the player. We have a really good relationship with his agent. We spoke only last week. We’re not in a rush to sell Lennon, we don’t need to sell him.

“But it’s not all about us, it’s about Lennon too. He is playing games every week which is the most important thing for his development and if he continues to develop the way he is we understand for his own development he’d probably need to go to a higher level. We need to bide our time and make sure when that time comes it’s the right deal for the club and the player.”

Rangers can test the waters to sign Lennon Miller

Gers can strategically approach the situation with Miller by initiating a bid that tests Motherwell’s resolve while not necessarily meeting their full valuation.

They could engage in constructive talks with Miller and his representatives to gauge how the teenager feels about moving to Glasgow.

These discussions could focus on how he’ll get more game time at Ibrox and why it would be an ideal place for his development.

By gauging Miller’s interest in a move, Gers can assess his ambition and see whether a move aligns with his career goals.

If the Scotsman shows enthusiasm, this could encourage Motherwell to negotiate, especially if they see that the player is keen on leaving the club.

Gers could include future add-ons to make the deal sweeter for Motherwell and not too steep for themselves.

In other Rangers news, the injury sustained by a first-team player is worse than first expected and it will keep out until mid December.
