Wilson Odobert spotted in hospital as Tottenham star shares new update

Tottenham ace Wilson Odobert has been spotted in a hospital after suffering an injury setback towards the end of October.

The 19-year-old returned to action in Spurs’ 1-0 UEFA Europa League win against AZ Alkmaar on 24 October after being out for over a month due to a hamstring injury, but suffered a setback immediately after.

Ange Postecoglou revealed on 29 October that Odobert’s latest injury is “serious”, albeit being different to the one that previously kept him out [football.london].

In a worrying new update, Odobert shared a picture of himself lying in a bed at the Princess Grace Hospital in London on his Instagram [16 November].

Wilson Odobert injury a concern for Tottenham

Tottenham forked out £25million to sign Odobert from Burnley in the summer [BBC], but have hardly been able to play him.

The winger made two starts in all competitions before picking up his first injury and has since missed 11 games altogether.

Postecoglou could have certainly used Odobert in recent weeks to reduce the workload on Son Heung-min and Brennan Johnson, especially after Richarlison suffered an injury of his own.

Nevertheless, Spurs will now be hoping that the former Burnley star can return to action soon.

Although the club can be expected to provide an update on Odobert soon, his latest Instagram story with the caption “Thank god” suggests he may have undergone surgery. In another story, the teenager notably shared a verse from the Bible about trusting god.

Odobert’s injuries and the frequency of those issues have understandably led to frustration among the Spurs fanbase, with John Wenham recently expressing his disappointment over the situation.
