'Worrying'': Leon Osman says there's one thing that really concerns him after seeing Everton at Aston Villa

Everton surrendered a two-goal lead at Aston Villa today as they continued their horrendous start to the Premier League season.

For the second game running, Sean Dyche saw his Toffees side race into a two-goal lead before surrendering with a whimper and losing the game 3-2.

Everton now sit bottom of the table and along with Southampton, are among two teams yet to register a single point in the Premier League.

Quite what Sean Dyche will now do remains to be seen, and with the club in the midst of yet more takeover talks, Dyche will fear for his future.

However, rather than look at the manager, former Everton man Leon Osman feels that there’s something even more worrying about the squad in general.

Leon Osman questions Everton players’ mentality after Aston Villa collapse

Speaking about Everton’s form for Premier League Productions, former Toffees star Osman admitted that the way Everton are losing leads is extremely concerning.

“It’s a familiar sinking feeling for myself and Evertonians. They’re never going to go to Villa Park and outplay Villa,” Osman commented.

“They found themselves two-goals up and they need to a find away mentally of getting through these games. You can’t keep letting two-goal leads go, it’s worrying.”

Everton could go down

The Toffees have teetered for the last few seasons now and it was quite amazing they didn’t drop last season.

Indeed, only the likes of Burnley and Sheffield United being so poor allowed Everton to escape quite easily in the end.

However, any good feeling from last season seems to have completely disappeared and Dyche is very much under pressure now.

The stark reality of the situation is that Everton could very realistically go down this year. And with a move to a new stadium upon them, that would be huge.

Make no mistake, Osman is right here and Everton and their players have simply got to find a way out of this current mess.
