21-year-old forward will have chance to revitalise Barcelona career, Sevilla advances to be rejected

It’s safe to say that Ansu Fati’s career has been on a downward spiral in the last 2-3 years, following a consistent run of injury problems. Despite this, he still has plenty of chances to make his mark at Barcelona, especially with Hansi Flick having taken over from Xavi Hernandez.

As per Sport, Fati will be given the chance to prove himself during Flick’s first pre-season, although at this stage, the most likely outcome in his situation is another exit. Barcelona want to sell him if possible, although they are aware that no one – aside from clubs in Saudi Arabia – would be willing to meet the price that they want.

Fati’s stock is very low at the moment, following his unconvincing loan spell at Brighton last season. Because of this, Barcelona are prepared to organise another temporary move, although it’s unlikely to be to Sevilla, who have shown a strong interest in the 21-year-old forward. They do not agree with the financial conditions that would be imposed in a deal between the two clubs, whose relationship is rocky, to say the least.

It is a big summer for Fati, who could be facing his final chance to establish himself at Barcelona. He must impress Flick if he is to have any chance of continuing in the Catalan capital – he must also prove that his recurring injury problems are behind him.
