Rangers are likely to pocket around £4million from the sale of Sam Lammers to FC Twente, according to Anthony Joseph.

The Sky Sports journalist took to X on 26 July to claim that an initial fee of £2.5million has been agreed but another £1.5million are likely to be added to the fee as clauses are met.

The Dutch attacker will follow the likes of Ryan Jack, John Lundstram, Borna Barisic and Kemar Roofe out of the door as all of them have sealed their permanent Ibrox exits.

MailOnline reported on 24 July that it was only a £2million fee, but it’s understood to be higher than that.

Joseph wrote: “FC Twente are closing in on the signing of Rangers forward Sam Lammers.

“An initial fee of around £2.5m has been agreed, with add-ons potentially increasing that to just under £4m.

“Lammers has agreed terms on a three-year deal with the Dutch club.”

Rangers must quickly cash in the Sam Lammers money to sign a new striker

Gers’ potential £4million windfall from the sale of Lammers to Twente is a significant amount that should be reinvested in a new striker.

This injection of funds provides an opportunity for the Ibrox outfit to strengthen their attacking options and address the void left by Lammers’ departure.

Given the exits of players like Jack, Lundstram, Barisic, Roofe and potentially James Tavernier and Connor Goldson, it is crucial for Rangers to maintain a competitive squad.

While Cyriel Dessers is an option, relying solely on him as the first-choice striker may not be sufficient, especially considering Danilo’s recent long-term injury that he’s just recovering completely from.

A new striker can bring fresh energy and competition to the team, enhancing Gers’ chances in various competitions.

The club should act swiftly to secure a quality replacement, ensuring they have a robust attacking lineup capable of challenging for titles and maintaining their performance standards.

In other Rangers news, a club president has green-signalled the exit of a player as Gers have issued a “significant” bid to sign him.
