87 touches, 4 duels won, 92% passing accuracy: £34.2m Liverpool ace in eye-catching int'l display tonight

Arne Slot has got his Liverpool side playing some really nice football this season with everyone contributing towards the main goal.

One thing that Slot has managed to do already is instill a togetherness in his side, which has seen Liverpool go unbeaten without even conceding a goal.

The international break is a scary time for managers as star players have the potential to get injured and ruin the plans at club level.

Interestingly, Luis Diaz put in a solid display for Colombia but the same can’t be said for Ibrahim Konate who was slammed for his performance away with France.

Another Liverpool player, who featured tonight alongside Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo, put in a great performance…

£34.2m Liverpool player puts in eye-catching performance on international duty

Ryan Gravenberch has been Slot’s go-to man in the number 6 role this season after Liverpool failed to sign Martin Zubimendi in the summer transfer window.

The midfielder really has been a shining light for the Reds and it appears as if he’s carried that form onto the international stage.

Gravenberch played 90 minutes in the Netherlands’ 5-2 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina and ended up with 87 touches, 92% passing accuracy, four interceptions and four duels won (as per SofaScore).

Cody Gakpo grabbed a goal, while Virgil van Dijk had a decent game at centre-back.

What does Arne Slot think of Gravenberch?

Well, Arne Slot was talking recently and had plenty of good things to say about Gravenberch, who was signed for £34.2 million.

“I think coming from the Netherlands we all know how good he is with the ball, so he can be a really important player for our build-up game.

“But what impressed me most when I started working with him is how much he can run and then still when he arrives in a duel.

“And you saw today with him, Dominik and Maca with how much they were able to keep on running because sometimes you’re late but they just kept on running.”
