‘A joke’: Rio Ferdinand says he’d love to have ‘outstanding’ Arsenal player at Manchester United

Arsenal and Manchester United are two of English football’s great rivals.

However, in recent years, that rivalry has become more and more one-sided.

Arsenal are miles ahead of Manchester United in the Premier League right now, and the Gunners have won each of their last four games against United.

Mikel Arteta’s side, once again, beat the Red Devils on Wednesday, and the gulf in class between the two sides is there for all to see.

Speaking on his podcast, Rio Ferdinand has reserved some special praise for on Arsenal player in particular, claiming that Bukayo Saka is a brilliant player who he’d love to have at Old Trafford.

Rio Ferdinand would love Bukayo Saka at Manchester United

Ferdinand spoke highly of Saka.

Ferdinand said Saka isn’t world class last season, but he’s been very impressed by how the winger has evolved in recent times.

“I have to jump in there, Saka has been a joke this season, he’s been a joke, he’s outstanding. He was quiet against us, but if Saka is quiet in the game Malacia must have done well,” Ferdinand said.

“Saka, his game is evolving every single time you see him. Every year, every week, every month, every year. Last year I was saying he’s a bit one-dimensional always going inside the pitch, against us two of his best moments were outside on his right foot creating havoc. I’d love to have a player like that at Man United, I’d go as far as to say that.”

Saka compared to Manchester United attackers

Ferdinand says that he’d love to have Saka at Manchester United, and it’s not hard to understand why.

Indeed, Saka has been outperforming all of United’s attackers this season, and the stats make for pretty grim reading if you’re a United supporter.

United’s attackers, simply put, aren’t on Saka’s level right now.

Saka has been tipped as a future Ballon d’Or winner this week, and for good reason. He’s one of the most decisive attackers in the Premier League, and he’s going to play a huge part as Arsenal look to push for the Premier League title once again.

United once pinched Robin van Persie from Arsenal, but it’s highly unlikely that the Red Devils will ever get their hands on Saka.

Interestingly, the Red Devils were linked with a top talent from a north London club this week as Heung-Min Son was linked with United.

Ruben Amorim’s side certainly need attacking additions if they’re going to kick on.
