'Absolute nobodies' - King thrilled for Tottenham ace as he hits back at 'Clowns' v Brentford

Bryan King was thrilled to see Brennan Johnson get on the scoresheet for Tottenham against Brentford on Saturday, 21 September.

The ex-Spurs scout claims the Welshman has hit back at the “clowns” and “absolute nobodies” who sent him abusive messages.

Johnson put Spurs ahead as they came back from behind to beat the Bees 3-1 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

It was his second goal in as many games since the 23-year-old decided to deactivate his personal Instagram account following abusive messages he received.

And King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – feels as though this has been the perfect response from the Welshman.

“I was pleased for Johnson,” King said.

“For these cowards abusing him, sometimes things come back and hit you in the face. Therefore, I’m glad these clowns have been hit in the face.

“That will do his confidence the world of good. He has had quite a bit of stick from certain people. Absolute nobodies, the people that do this are nobodies.”

Brennan Johnson continues to silence critics at Tottenham

Johnson has been subject to a lot of criticism in North London. However, if it wasn’t for the ex-Nottingham Forest man, Spurs might have been knocked out of the Carabao Cup and stumbled once again in the Premier League this week.

Therefore, he has demonstrated his quality and certainly proved his doubters wrong.

For Johnson and his teammates, it will now be about continuing to perform at this level consistently

Postecoglou’s side haven’t made the best of starts to the season, and King still wasn’t particularly impressed by one key player against Brentford.

However, they have now won back-to-back matches. As a result, the club have a good opportunity to take this momentum forward and kickstart their season.

In other Tottenham news, one player on loan from the club has been mooted to make his move permanent in a £10million transfer.
