Everton Women have suffered another injury blow with midfielder Inma Gabarro suffering an ACL injury, the club confirmed on 2 October.

Reach PLC journalist Beth Lindop took to X to highlight the club’s bad luck in terms of players being ruled out with long-term injuries.

This development comes just days after Aurora Galli also ruptured her ACL – becoming the third WSL player in two weeks to suffer the same injury.

Lindop wrote: “It felt on Sunday that this would be the likely outcome but really sad to see this confirmed. Everton really have had absolutely rotten luck with injuries.”

Everton unlucky as Inma Gabarro is likely to be out for the season

Gabbaro, 21, is now not expected to be back before the end of the season as ACL injuries are typically nine-month lay-offs.

The Toffees will be devastated to lose two players with the same injury within a matter of days and that’s undoubtedly going to hamper Brian Sorensen’s plans.

The Spain international, a key player who joined the club this summer, looked to be in tremendous pain against Manchester United at Walton Hall Park on Sunday afternoon, 29 September.

At that point itself, it looked extremely serious with many fearing that it would be a long-term absence.

After the game, even Sorensen expressed his concern at the situation so any hope of a quick recovery seemed to have been dashed.

The Toffees will now have to find a way to deal with yet another first-team absence and it remains to be seen what the head coach has in mind.

In other Everton news, an automobile giant valued at £192.9billion likely to have held talks with the club over a ground-breaking deal.
