Agent urges European club to sign Everton ace and reunite him with former team-mate

Football agent Eugenio Ascari believes Fiorentina should pursue the signing of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and reunite him with former Everton teammate Moise Kean.

The Blues supposedly accept that Calvert-Lewin’s departure at the end of the season is “inevitable” [Dan Bardell] as he approaches the end of the final year of his contract with no renewal in sight.

However, football agent Ascari, former representative of Manchester United man Alejandro Garnacho among others, believes there is an outcome that exists with Fiorentina.

In an interview with Firenze Viola [22 November], he stated he could see Calvert-Lewin move to the Serie A side in a beneficial move for all parties.

He said: “I would take the twenty-seven-year-old Everton player Calvert-Lewin [at Fiorentina], a player of great value. It could be on loan with an option or obligation to buy.”

Everton should bite the hands of Fiorentina to take Dominic Calvert-Lewin

The 27-year-old has been given ample time to renew on fresh terms at Everton, as Goodison News exclusively revealed in October that the Blues were in talks with the forward for a new deal.

However, there has yet to be a breakthrough in negotiations, and while the Toffees hold out hope that he can extend his stay on Merseyside once Dan Friedkin assumes control of the club, it is time to move on.

Calvert-Lewin leaving would not be the worst outcome for Everton. Bear in mind Armando Broja could be a tailor-made replacement for the Blues once he makes his long-awaited debut after a lengthy injury layoff.

Furthermore, once the Toffees’ Premier League status is secure, the new ownership, paired with the relocation to Bramley-Moore Dock, suddenly turns the blue half of Merseyside into an attractive landing spot for new additions.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin will not be short of options

It is worth noting for Everton fans the level of club Calvert-Lewin is currently being linked to – Newcastle United are re-entered in the frame for his signature [TEAMtalk] but are a far cry from the side who achieved Champions League qualification two seasons ago.

Meanwhile, Besiktas is another name that refuses to go away [Fotomac], and a move to the Turkish Super Lig at this stage of his career would signal that his intentions are no longer to further his stock in football.

Fiorentina would be the best option for Calvert-Lewin, and if the Serie A side were willing to pay a sum in January, Everton would be negligent to turn that down for a player who is destined to leave for free at the end of the season.

A strikeforce of Calvert-Lewin and Kean may have once been the dream at Goodison Park, but not anymore.

The Blues have the opportunity to pawn another Blues reject to Italy. It makes no sense to turn down this move.
